Blessing of new accounting and graduate business rooms courtesy of the alumni

News - Campus Updates

In a continuing effort to engage the alumni in the College's mission of education, three modern classrooms donated by Bedans were recently blessed. The classrooms located on the second floor of St. Bede's building were designed to suit the needs of the accounting and graduate business students. Thanks to SBC's perennial donors, namely: Jose Araullo (HS '59), Chairman of the Board, Real Bank; Atty. Dominador Buhain (HS '61), President of Rex  Bookstore; and Roman Felipe "Manny Reyes" (CAS '72), founding partner of the Reyes Tacandong & Co., for making this project possible. The classrooms are unique from the other newly renovated rooms since these addressed the learning needs of students majoring in accounting and those pursuing graduate studies in business. Each room has 37-40 accounting chairs and tables courtesy of another outstanding Bedan, Mr. James Sy. In appreciation of their generosity, an achievement marker and bust of Araullo, Buhain and Reyes are permanently displayed in the rooms, carrying their respective names.

Rev. Fr. Aloysius Maranan, OSB, rector-president, expressed the College's unbounded gratitude to these alumni during the blessing and unveiling of the markers and busts. He also thanked Dean Ramon Ricardo Roque, Rev. Fr. Rafaelito Alaras,OSB, Prof. Joffre Alajar and Rev. Fr. Anselm Manalastas for putting their acts together to make the beautiful classrooms a reality in SBC.

May SBC be blest with more generous Bedans like them.
